The Story of Hammapants

The Chronicle of Hamma

The Average Joe

He's just your average Joe... Well, Bob in an small town with a graduating class of less than 80 people. Searching for his purpose in a sea of bullies, preppies, jocks, nerds, band geeks and Hot Topic shoppers..."I always sensed that my time would come. To be seen and heard..."

New Kid On The Block

"I've had my fair share of being bullied as the new kid on the block. Loved and hated, cheated on, lied to...left unwanted and feeling alone in a small town."

~

At a young age Rob transitioned to an entirely new state from his original home, a new life after being caught in the middle of a messy divorce. The repercussions of which would lead him to a life of being bullied and outcasted amongst his grade school peers. Affects that would follow him to high school, with him struggling to find confidence and self esteem.

The relief for Rob would come in the form of the theater, the movie theater that is. An escape from life's cruelty.  Movies that would inspire him to be a stronger person, to laugh more and love more.  Actors that he could look up to, and actors that would provide relief by means of laughter and comedy. Robin Williams, Jim Carrey and Adam Sandler to name a few. Along with the inspiration of these movies he began taking acting classes, and learned the ways of his favorite actors.

Job After Job

With Job hopping from one opening to the next, Rob has had his share of mixed 'careers' throughout his life. From decent mangagers, to horrible ones...been there, done that.

~

"I've done my time as a mindless zombie worker in a warehouse, just a number and not a person. It wouldnt be until early 2021 that I realized my purpose."

Hamma Was In A Ska Band!?!

With time and adjustment Rob's confindence grew, and with the help of music..he began to feel better. A love of Ska music doesn't hurt. After all, their message has always stemmed from togetherness and equality.  With a love (and knack) for entertaining, coupled with some choice vocals,  Rob started and managed an 8 piece Ska Punk Band for 6 years! Touring througout the state with his buddies and fans. But, unfortunatley, all good things must come to an end..Life gets in the way,  and the band slowly broke up. But, Rob wouldn't of changed that time for the world.

"I've met so many amazing people during that time as a Frontman/ Lead Singer and it's a memory that I will always cherish for the rest of my life considering I got to inspire so many and High five the crowd on stage".

"I never thought that rush, and feeling could ever be topped...but I stand here today still shaking my head."

From The Ashes

When the realization hit of the band being just a memory now, Rob again sought out for the next adventure that could help him find himself. "It was rough being back to feeling like I was a nobody again, and like my hope was lost."  But just like a phoenix rising from the ashes, he began to see a light at the end of the tunnel. And that light, came in the form of online gaming..

"I would watch countless youtubers playing funny games or horror games with jump scares online, screaming along with them, and laughing along with them. And I thought hey... I could do this.. All these popular players seemed like they were having a blast! The comments and fans were unbelievable! It sparked that flame that was nearly out inside of me, and gave me that glimmer of hope again. Maybe this is the next adventure..."

Why Horror?

"I've always been a huge Horror fan and my wife and I have a 20 minute rule for new Horror movies now where we give them ALL a chance, and if it sucks after the 20 minute mark then we just don't watch the rest of it. However, majority of all Horror movies I've seen... and keep continuing on that film voyage".

~

From straight up Slasher Gore/ Paranormal/ Creature Feature like Friday The 13th, Nightmare On Elm Street, & Childsplay to Comedic Horror Films like Shaun Of The Dead, Scouts Guide To The Zombie Apocolypse. Regardless of how many Horror Films & Shows Rob has seen in the past he has always been more focused with indulging in Horror Movies.

~

When Rob was at the age of 16 he fantasized about creating an Annual Halloween Scare trail in his Moms Backyard. He worked on many different themed projects year after year until the great flood from Hurricane Irene wiped out his Halloween tradition. He has missed doing this ever since.

A New Chapter is Born. The Hammapants.

Not everyone has the ability to mimick their favorite cartoon characters or actors from growing up..but it just so happens, Rob does. With the undeniable ability to make people smile and laugh, coupled with the talent of a 1,000 voices and channeling his innner radioshow host ...a new being was born. And they called him...Hammapants.

~

But how did Rob become Hammapants? All his life Rob's friends and coworkers gave him several nicknames. Then it clicked after someone called him "BobRob Hammapants" during his Ska Punk Band days.

Morale Of The Story

Rob's ending quote on this interview was, "Sometimes you just need to go through Hell, to find what you're meant to do. Always keep moving forward no matter the cost is because in the end.. it will all be worth it considering we only have one shot at living Life to being our fullest potential".
